White splotches/blemishes

I stupidly had unprotected sex with a new partner about a week ago and have noticed several white spotches going (on each side) from the base of my penis down to my anus.  They are white discolorations and each is about the size of a dime or a penny.  I don't have any pain urinating and I don't have any discharging, but am concerned about the white splotches or blemishes, which recently appeared.  I feel minor pressure in the head of my penis but no pain.  I think that part may be mental.  This occurred about one week ago.  Do you have any idea what this could be?  The white splotches/blemishes are very noticeable.  I am a white male.  Chlomydia maybe?  Could I send a picture?  Thanks!  crfisher

Recurrent thrush can be a symptom of HIV but most persons with recurrent thrush do not have HIV.  Your risk is very low.   You can get confidential HIV testing at most public health departments.  EWH

Very last question before I go to the doctor.  In addition to the white lesions in my groin area, I have been getting thrush on my tongue about once every other month for the last 6-9 months including a current episode.  When going through the various STD symptoms, I saw that frequent thrush was a symptom of aids as the immune system is weak.  I don't have an explanation for the frequent thrush and I don't have a clue what the lesions in my groin are...are these symptoms for aids?  Could that be a possibility?  I had unprotected sex a year ago with a different prostitute in Costa Rica.

Is there an avenue to get a confidential aids test where it is not recorded anywhere?  Needless to say, I'm done with Costa Rica after these current lesions and this scare.  Really opens your eyes to stupid behavior.  Thanks for your insight!!!

Among STDs those that infect the skin are best diagnosed with blood tests while infections infecting the penis cause discharge or burning on urination but do not go from causing a rash to causing penile symptoms.  If you go for an STD check a syphilis blood test is the only blood test (you can get an HIV test at the same time but nothing you describe is even vaguely reminiscent of HIV)..  From your penis, either a swab or in many places a urine test can be done and should be tested for white blood cells, gonorrhea and chlamydia.  Having said this, I still find it unlikely that you ahve any of these.  EWH

Thank you for the advice.  I will go see my dermatologist.  If I turned out to have an STD anyway from this partner (who was a prostitute in Costa Rica), how long would it take before I had painful urinations or discharges from my penis?

If I go to a regular doctor or urgent care facility, what kind of test can they run to see if I got an STD?  i.e. can everything be done via blood/urine?  I heard once that one of the test can be putting a cotton swab up your penis which doesn't sound pleasant.

Thanks!  crfisher

no, just pale circular skin discolorations.  No bumps of any kind.

The lesions you describe are unlikely to be an STD of any sort.  There is an outside chance they could be a manifestation of a yeast infection but that is quite unlikely.  My advice is to go see a dermatologist who can make a diagnosis.  Please let us know what he/she says.  (We do not make diagnoses on this site. To do so would not be fair to you or ethical for us).  By seeing a health care professional, they can examine you directly and do any tests that are needed.  this is your best interest.  EWH
