No change in my assessments. Your symptoms do not suggest HIV and your risk remains quite low. As I also said earlier, HIV questions must be on the HIV Forum. There will be no further respnses about HIV here. EWH
Also I just rememberd she was a bisexual.
I recently started getting diarhhea and my throat has have been kinda sore but could that be because of thrush? It doesnt hurt at all I just feel its hard to swallow but no it doesnt hurt.
I am actually visting some family in India and I am thinking that could explain my diarrehea. Since I have arrived I have been having loose stool. But recently (3 days to be exact) I have been to the washroom 2, 2 and today three times. I have also been experinecing pains in my hands, arms and legs. Could this just be because I am really stressed.
I cant get checked till I go back to the states. :(
This is more of an HIV question than an STD question. Questions about HIV belong on the HIV prevention site. I will do my best to answer your questions with this reply but, if you have additional questions or follow-up regarding HIB they must be on the HIV Prevention site. Sorry.
Your risk for HIV from a single encounter of the sort you describe is low. Very few heterosexual women have HIV (on the other hand many have chlamydia and other organisms which cause epididymitis) and even if your partner did, your risk of getting HIV through a single encounter is less than 1 in 1000 while your risk of getting chlamydia, for instance is about 1 in 5. Thus the odds are very much in your favor.
Your doctor provided you with the right treatment for your epididymitis and I hope is has improved. It should have. On the other hand, the medications he provided have side effects and you have described many of them. Both doxycycline and azithromycin are associated with the sorts of GI side effects you describe. Further, taking powerful antibiotics of this sort typically increase the risk for getting fungal infections such as thrush. The rashes you describe on your penis and foreskin could also very well be fungal infections as well and are VERY unlikely to be related to HIV.
I have several suggestions:
1. Try not to worry. your risk for HIV from what you tell me is low.
2. Get tested. I predict your tests will be negative and when they are this will be strong evidence that you did not get HIV. A test at this time will completely eliminate any chance that you got HIV in October and would detect well over 90% of HIV infections acquired on January 29.
I hope my comments are helpful. Your risk for HIV is very low. EWH
