I was diagnosed with a precancerous lesion on my face that is a light pink color close to my mouth. The doctor performed a light cryosurgery and told me it would blister, scab and heal to remove the spot. I had the procedure done on Monday with a small blister forming. By Thursday of that week it had never scabbed and looked the same as it did before I had the procedure done. The dermatologist then had me come back in the next Monday and "froze it again" and prescribed Imiquimod daily to area for 4 weeks straight since the "freeze" was unsuccessful at removing the lesion. My concern is that maybe the dermatologist didn't do the cyrosurgery correctly and that is why after 3 days the spot looked exactly the same as before. I am concerned about unnecessary discomfort from the imiquimod if he didn't do it correctly and could be taken care of from a proper cyrosurgery. Can someone give me some insight please? The dermatologist also said if this 2nd "freeze" doesn't clear up spot on my face he will cut it out on next visit which to me may mean an unnecessary scar if it can treated in other ways.
