Exhausted

For a few years now I am having trouble wanting to get up.  I sleep a good 8 hours or more but when the alarm goes off my body still wants to sleep.  I hear everything around me and I can move any way I want but to get my eyes to open is a struggle.   I used to be able to get up at 4-5 am everyday with no struggles but now I am struggling.  During the day I would love to take a nap and get sleepy around 1-2 oclock.   I am mad at myself for not being able to get up and be the morning person as before.  I think of myself as weak that I cannot make myself get up.  I am hoping someone else has experienced this and can help me.

Because it's been going on so long, might be a good idea to discuss with your doc, this to either treat or rule out an underlying med condition.  If nothing, you just may need a bit more time in bed for sleep.  Consistency with timing, particularly wake timing every day, helps with this.
