Insomnia...?

I'm not sure what has been wrong with me lately... For the past two to three weeks or so, I have been averaging 2-3 hours of sleep a night. I constantly feel tired, but can't get myself to go to sleep. I've tried different relaxation things, I've tried reading before bed (it usually makes me fall asleep), I've tried warm milk, watching movies, breathing exercizes, etc. Nothing in my life has been really stressful, if anything it has been less stressful than ever. I'm 24 years old and rarely drink and no drugs and occassionally a cup of coffee in the morning, depending on if I got any sleep at all the night before. What could be wrong with me lately? It's driving me crazy....and I hate to admit this, but I'm really not the nicest person to talk to if I haven't gotten any sleep. My fiancee is going crazy with me not sleeping....anyone have any advice or suggestions?

Well I currently take Klonopin, which has always helped me sleep as well, but lately, nothing really works, I always listen to soft music at night, i've tried warm showers, wash cloths at night, warm milk, bananas, and having my DH rub my back, i dunno.....

Hi,

You could try a warm shower or listening to soft music at bedtime.

If the sleep cycle pattern still stays the same, it would be best to consult your doctor and ask him/her for antianxiety medicatiosn like alprazolam which are safe and would help with the sleep.

Take this for a few days and see if your sleep pattern restores to normal. If not you will have to consult a sleep specialist.

Do keep us posted and let us know how you are doing.

Hope this helps.

Good luck.
