Potential insomnia?

Hello there , I am a 16 year old female who recently over the past year has suffered from unsettled sleeping pattern. When I was younger I used to have a wonderful relaxed sleeping pattern now my body can't seem to settle the last week I have barely slept , I keep awakening from my sleep if I do fall asleep that is and not being able to go back to sleep. I have monitored my sleeping pattern and discovered I function better with hardly any sleep than to when I have plenty. Is this something I should no concerned about and consult my doctor in , or shall it resolve itself? This is becoming a potential worry as my exams are approaching and I worry I won't be able to concentrate due to all I can think is if I can go the day with the amount of hours sells ivechad the previous night. Any replies will be glady accepted thankyou.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello and hope you are doing well.

You should not keep thinking about sleeplessness, as this in turn promotes insomnia and it becomes a vicious cycle.

You should stop becoming anxious and try to relax. Try to have a warm bath before sleeping. Have a glass of milk or read a book before trying to sleep. Don’t watch TV or do exercise before sleeping. Condition yourself that you can relax and that you can sleep well.

Try yoga and meditation they have calming effects. Go for long stress free walks. Also, do exercise in the daytime this promotes good sleep.
If it still persists consult your doctor, he may give you sedatives to tide over temporary insomnia.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
