Some.way.to.help.me.sleep.(No.meds!)

I.have.had.trouble.sleeping.lately.from.anxiety.
what.are.some.ways.to.help.me.sleep?

Avoid caffeine drinks and chocolates. Drink a glass of warm milk and have a cold shower before bed. That relaxes your mind and you feel like sleeping. I have heard people say that doing workouts before bed too would get you a good sleep.

- Try exhausting yourself from physical exercise?

- Try experimenting with the foods you enjoy which you find make you feel tired. Certain food is suspected to make you feel sleepy (e.g. carbohydrates), and others to keep you awake (e.g. protein).

- Make sure you do not over-eat before you go to bed.

- Sometimes I find when you are lying awake at night, that if you try and keep your eyes open as long as you possibly can as opposed to closing them, it tires you out.

- Meditative music can help you fall into a trance like state and fall asleep.

- Do not allow yourself to think excessively. Try imagining black? If that works for you...  try and clear your mind...  you need to lower your brain activity.

- Make sure you are sleeping at comfortable temperatures in good air.

- If you don't have a strict routine to keep to, sometimes staying up a bit later than normal can help you fall asleep. But make sure you engage in some activity like watching TV to stop yourself from obsessing about your anxiety.
