Hi,
How are you? Are there other medications that you re presently taking? Sodium oxybate or xyrem is a very powerful central nervous system (CNS) depressant and it is only used as prescribed. This medication is indicated for narcolepsy and decrease symptoms such as daytime sleepiness, unwanted daytime naps or sleep attacks, and nighttime awakening. Side effects may include drowsiness, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhea, increased sweating, or headache. Sleepwalking is one very rare serious side effect. While medication side effect varies from one person to another, it is best that you inform your attending physician about these symptoms and any additional symptom for proper evalaution. Take care and do keep us posted.
I have told them my symptoms and the response is always to increase my dose. I dont think thats the answer. Is there another medication that i can take that will knock me out but give me the day time effect of the xyrem. I take multi meds, celexa 40mg, ativan 2 mg 3 times a day ,geadon 40mg 2 times a day. v.b12, fishoil, metformin 500 mg 2 times a day, crestor 10 mg, wellbutrin 200mg, vyvanse70mg, and estradiol 2 mg.
I am instructed the same for my Xyrem issues ... 'Got a problem?...Increase the dose' Grr!
Matt
I was taking ambient and I was driving and cooking and doing weird things like going to take more ambient... one night I sleep walked and took 15 more pills! my wife called 911 and they took me to the hospital. I don't rember a dam thing. so my doc put me on xyrem and in the morning my fist supply is coming to my house. I am a little nervous about starting it because of all the stuff I read on the net. but I got to try. I am bipolar and have a lot of sleepless nights. I hope this works.
