try my fetal stetch.i have been suffering with severe restless legs syndrome for 35 years. A month ago, I accidently found a method to eliminate the symptoms for approximatel 24 hours. I call it the fetal stretch and it has changed my life. When i feel the symptoms resuming, i simply lay on my side, get into a very tight fetal position, really stretching the back and legs, hold for 2 minutes, release, and symptoms disappear for about 24 hours.
I blelieve it is the stretching of the back that is doing something.
I am now on a mission to tell as many people as possible. Ionly wish i had discoveed this many years ago. So many years of suffering!
good luck

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi, welcome to the forum, The causes for Restless leg syndrome are peripheral neuropathies, vitamin and minerals deficiencies, lumbosacral radiculopathy, spinal stenosis, excess caffeine intake, obesity, anemia, smoking, hypoglycemia, and hypothyroidism.

You should to try exercise regularly and reduce caffeine, alcohol and tobacco use.  Do stretching, pacing, walking, or jogging.  Apply heat or cold to your legs and arms.  And finally, when you’re lying in bed at night, try lie on your side with a pillow between your knees which will prevent restless leg syndrome.

You need to undergo spinal and brain radio imaging, blood sugar and thyroid status to rule out the cause for shaky legs and arms. I suggest you to consult a neurologist to rule out the cause and treatment accordingly. You may have to take vitamin B-complex supplementation. As such this would not be a matter of concern. Take care and regards.

Muscle spasms and twitches can be caused by a magnesium deficiency.  Many people with RLS have found magnesium to stop or relieve their symptoms.

Some of the safer and more effective forms include: Taurate, Glycinate and Citrate (latter can be laxitative, so take with food).
