Xyrem, which I have prescribed for about 10 of my patients, is the only sleep medication to increase stage 3 and 4 sleep.  FDA-approved only for narcolepsy and only available thru one pharmacy nationwide, I have not had too much trouble getting off-label approval for my patients.

best,

Hello.

Sorry about the problems your husband is having. In my view, the sleep disturbance is due to the TBI. The trauma is responsible for the reduced Oxygen saturation. Additionally, the lungs may not be functioning to the optimum.

I would suggest you try for a multidisciplinary approach for the sleep. You may consult a sleep specialist, who may formulate some treatment plan after discussing the issues with the TBI and the lung problems.

Regards
