Yes, the coughing's normal.
Just you wait. You're going to feel so much better! Also, if you can get out and walk that'll bring you even more relief.
Sounds like you work with the public. Been there and it's challenging to put it nicely, lol. Have a great smoke-free weekend!!!
Kathyjo and Jade59,
Thank you both very much!
Yes I do also have Fibro :-( I really never even considered that not smoking would benefit me in that area, thanks!!! I will definitely pay attention to how I feel in that area as time goes on :-) Thanks for the info on whyquit, I'll check it out. Thinking I should have taken a vacation from work lol, either people just became more ignorant and rude, or it's just me...I'm putting my money on the latter!
I did notice that I am coughing more of a productive cough than usual, is that normal? Just my lungs trying to clear themselves?
Thanks again hope you both have a great weekend!
Hi, congratulations on day 1. Listen, I see you have Fibro, I do too and when I quit smoking all that pain decreased by a good percentage so consider that something to look forward to besides the obvious :)
Also, start yourself a tracker for your quit. Seeing the number of days add up will be a big psychological help. I found writing my thoughts in my journal was a big release too.
Good luck to you!! Anytime you need to vent, just post away.
Welcome and congratulations on your decision to take back your life : )
We're not going to sugar-coat it, It's difficult to quit, but with support from family and friends and the tools to keep yourself on the right track, you CAN do it.
I found the articles at whyquit.com to be very useful, especially when I substituted myself and my own experiences in the articles.
The physical w/d is gone in 72 hours and then you need to look at the emotional side. That's when whyquit comes in.
We will be here for you so don't hesitate!
I always say, if I was able to quit after 40 years, anyone can and I still believe it : )
