I'm happy to hear that you have some goals set and you are preparing for your quit, and that you see, first-hand what smoking can do to you.
Smoking is more an emotional addiction, so what I would suggest is to prepare yourself. The physical withdrawals last about 3 days, but our mental addiction takes a lot longer. It's a matter of learning to do everything without a smoke. You might want to make a deal with your mother and or any other smoker in the house and ask them to take it outside. This way you won't have the temptation thrown in your face anytime you are home.
There is a website, whyquit.com that has some wonderful articles. It will help you understand the addiction and ways of dealing with the cravings. I can tell you that if you stay physically active; sports, jogging, walking...whatever you can do to keep your mind on anything but, then that is the absolute best thing you can do. You going to need to be strong, but in the end it will be so worth it ; )
We are here to support your quit and when you need it, write.
Good luck and stay strong : )
