Not a smoker but I can still smell the cigarrete

Hi, I am not a smoker but over the weekend, I was around a few people that smoked. They smoked like a chimney. I was around them for almost 24 hours. There was no way out to be around a smoke-free space. Anyways, I can still feel like I am inhaling smokes and this is really bothering me eventhoug I am not around any smoker. How do I get rid of this smoke inhalation? Is my lungs now fill with smoke? Any advice and help is greatly appreciated.

Same thing happens to me now, but I was a long time smoker. Whenever I am in a closed room with smokers I wake up feeling like I smoked heavily and it lasts for almost a week! I never felt that way when I was smoking so it must be allergies to one or more of the many ingredients inside the cigarette.
Hopefully you will feel better with each passing day and you will have to think about exposing yourself to that same scenario in the future. Good luck!

Hi Jade,

I did all those, took a shower and did a load of laundry right after we got home. I feel like I am still inhaling the smoke when I take a breath. I turned on my air purifier last night and that seem to help a little. I feel like I need an inhaler to breath comfortably. I think I am allergic to smoke :(

Thanks for replying to my post..:)

Probably what's happened is your clothes were covered with it as well as your hair.  You may have gone to bed and got the smell on your pillowcase and sheets if your hair wasn't washed prior.  Try changing your bedding and doing a load of clothes with everything you wore during your time around smokers and see if that doesn't solve the problem.
