Day 2 - Nicotine products?? - introducing myself to the forum

Hi all - I am new to this forum but not to MedHelp - I was so sick (coughing/cold/hungover) this weekend I haven't touched a cig since Saturday eve - so almost 48 hours here.  I want to try keep this going - I wasn't planning on doing this now but why not try now that I have got almost 2 days.  I've read a few of the post & am not looking forward to my day 3 - my question for today is:  SHOULD I GO TO WALGREENS & GET A NICOTINE PRODUCT OR IF I FEEL OK SHOULD I TRY TO DO 1000% COLD TURKEY WITH NO PRODUCT.  Basically I feel good, but do feel a little ant-sy.

Thank you,
Banana

It only takes 72 hours to get the nicotine out of your system, why put it back in at this point. You are doing awesome! Green tea will calm you, Melatonine will help you sleep, call a doc for something to calm you only when you need it if it gets worse. You are doing WOW!

If you can make it CT, then go for it! From what I have heard and read, that's the best way to do it. Physical withdrawals last 72 hours so you are nearly there. It's the emotional attachment that keeps us addicted in any case so if you can, do some reading at whyquitdotcom and if you continue with your CT, then you can even join their group too : )
If you find you are struggling, then go and get the patch, but why do it unless you absolutely have to. Don't go for the gum or lozenges.....they are real bad (in my opinion).

We are here for you also, so if you need support ot have any questions, we will be there for you : )
Congrats on day 2!
