I somehow missed your post yesterday. Anyway, today is day 9 for you. Congrats!!! Your doing really well. I hate to be the one to tell you this, but the triggers are going to be around for a while. That's why you must stay vigilant about them.
I hope your feeling less tired by now and instead, enjoying how much easier it is to breathe. And smell good : )
Really proud of you Nick!
Keep up the good work!!!
Wow! Congrats on day 8 and also for getting to know your triggers, that is so important! Keep up the positive attitude and all will be well Nick : )

Hi..8 days now and I think my body is beginning to adjust to the triggers...hopefully all will be gone within another week..
Thanks,
Nick
Good Job Nick!!! Your post made me smile, you sound very optimistic! Just having such a good attitude about it will help you along. I'm happy your getting good sleep. When I quit, I was so hyper and a good night sleep didn't come for weeks!
Take it one day at a time.
We're here for you : )
Great job!!!
Keep your mind and your hands busy and if you need some support, we are here for you Nick : )
In the beginning, we count our quit by days, then it's by weeks, months, then years : )

Day 4 Now...Whew...
I made it past three days...went to bed and woke up feeling good...I'll have to wait and see if the fatigue comes back but I slept for 8 straight hours...that's a record for me lately :-)
The cravings were really bad last night but I kept busy and they passed. Going to work today...triggers are there...but feel strong enough to let these go...
Thx,
Nick
It's day 3 for you and the nicotine should be on its way OUT. You're doing GREAT!!! Just keep in mind that cravings only last a few minutes so try to keep yourself busy. Write that down on your fridge so you're constantly reminded that the craving your having right now WILL pass. If it gets too bad, come on here and vent your feelings, I've certainly done that more than a few times. Or, just go to "whyquit" and read, I've done that too and by the time I'm done, the craving has passed.
Try to keep in mind that everyday gets better.
Stay strong and keep posting...........
You can do it Nick! You are almost through it!
Try a lollipop or cut a straw to mimic the size and keep it with you all of the time. I promise that cravings will get less and less. Just stay focused and remind yourself why you are doing it.
38 years of smoking, and now I almost never get the urge to and it has only been 4 months, 1 week and 2 days!
I'm glad you are reading the whyquit. You can even join it since you are doing it cold turkey. It is so helpful to have an immediate support network and it got me through some rough times so make sure you use it.
Good luck and never smoke again.
Kathy Jo
Thx for your responses...made it through day 2 and started looking at the site you mentioned.
I would love to have one now...:could taste it actually....3 days of withdrawals and a few weeks of heavy cravings....
let me go to that website again...
thx,
Nick
Good job! It is only natural to feel tired though I believe there were a few on this forum that were hyper. Me, I was tired and I welcomed sleep in those first few days : )
Keep us posted and read the material on "whyquit.com" as FMXSMKR suggests. It truly helped me through some rough times : )

Hi there and welcome to the forum. Congratulations on your quit!!!!! You may be tired because nicotine is a stimulant which your body is no longer receiving. I would think this would be perfectly normal reaction. The cravings are only supposed to last about 3 minutes and if you can distract yourself they will pass before you know it. There is a good website called "whyquit.com" that will answer just about any question you may have as well as give you an education on the dangers of nicotine. I have found it to not only be helpful, but a good place to go when the cravings hit.
You are doing GREAT!! Keep up the good work, take it one day at a time and keep posting if you need support.
Take good care..........
