slow follicle growth...

This is my second month on femara.  I am on cd15 and my follies are growing so slow - only 13.5mm!  (Last month they were 17mm on cd12!).  Does anyone have any idea what could be going on?  Also, what is too slow?  Is there a day by which your RE would just stop the cycle and induce AF?

I am just worried to get prego so late in my cycle.  The 2 miscarriages I had were when I ovulated late (but were natural cycles, no meds).  At 39y with only one tube I don't want to waste a lot of time dealing with m/c's!!  I did get prego in 2007 on femara which resulted in dd but that cycle I triggered on cd13 with a 20mm follie!!!!!!!  Has anyone gotten prego late in a cycle and had a successful pregnancy??

Any insight would be appreciated.

Justtoolate - I'm curious what you've learned about ovulating later?  I tend to ovulate earlier, day 11/12, and I wonder if that is affecting my egg quality?  (duh, I know my age is affecting it!)

Mlb1234 - I do know that if you ovulate late, and if your luteal phase is shorter than 14 days, then that CAN contribute to pregnancy losses, and that is why doctors prescribe progesterone to lengthen the luteal phase.

I actually read somewhere that ovulating later in your cycle meant a better quality egg, but I don't remember where I read it. Later being day 12 - 15, day 10 was ovulating early.
sorry never took Femara.  Good luck

I couldn't handle taking Femara...gave me awful headaches. You asked about ovulating late. Did you mean in reference to the timming of your cycle? I don't even get a + OPK until CD15, but have gotten one on CD12. I guess I'm asking because I don't ov until later in my cycle. I'm using EPO & Vitex to balance my cycle out, but I cycle anywhere from 26-28 days, sometimes 23-25.

Sorry no insight...just adding more questions. ;o)
