Help Please

I am a 17 year old swimmer and for the past month I have been getting sick alot and having chest pains and breathing problems. I went to the doctor and they said that my chest pains were probably due to my coughing but now my cold is gone and I still have these problems. The problems start hurting even more right after events in meets. My coach yells at me for swimming slower than usual but sometimes my chest hurts in the middle of events and causes me to slow down no matter how fast I try to go.

you could indeed have asthma, or be developing an allergic reaction to the chlorine in the swimming pool. could be worse because your recovering from a chest infection. also, your chest infection could have turned into pneumonia. go see a GP soon.

Have you been tested for asthma? I was having similar symptoms and was diagnosed with asthma. Ask your doctor about it.
