Period

I am eighteen years old and I have only have my period 4 times in my life. May I add they were not considered regular from what I've heard. They were not heavy and closer to black that any color with little to no odor. I am concerned this may interfere with fertility later on in life or just the fact that it isn't healthy compared to other women I have heard from. What could this be and how could I treat it?

I do think you should see a dr. and get their opinion of what is going on.  I too only had a hand full of periods.  I was told I would have a difficult time having children.  They were wrong.  I had 2 children.  Although I did not have periods, I did ovulate.  Later we found out mine was a homonal imbalance.  Goodluck.

Honestly there are a lot of things that could cause this absence of a period -and some of them are serious. Being extremely under or overweight, vitamin deficiencies, hormonal imbalances, abnormalities in your uterus, and probably many other things can cause this.

You need to see a gyn -because that doesn't sound normal. A clinical evaluation will make sure everything is where it should be and then maybe you should get tested for things like a Thyroid disorder. Be sure to ask for free T3 and T4 testing as well as the standard TSH, because they tend to be more reliable at telling you what your thyroid is doing. You might also want to ask about PCOS. It is a potential cause, but I'm not very sure it matches your symptoms as I'm only vaguely familiar with it.
