Try sitting at the front of the class. It is very difficult to concentrate if you have others moving and fidgeting around you. This helped me a lot in college. Talk to your counselor at school and tell them of your concerns. See if they have other suggestions too. Why did you go off the meds?
ill admit it gives me a bigger imagination and im realy into artsy stuff so thats cool but as a child and even now in class things go through one ear out the other and i find myself pretty uniteligent for my age yesterday we read a book i swear i was listening the whole time then when we got the questionaire on the 1st 2 chapters i could barly awnser any of them my twin brother who has it too couldent either i dont know i think i have a confidence problem. i have been on meds i dont remember if it helped but the doc told me to stop taking them
Good! I am glad! Thank goodness that not everyone is the same. How boring would that be? You know how you can sit on a seat in downtown and your jaw hurts after a while because of the people you watch? Ok. I personally, don't want that to change!LOL
k cool thanks for brightening me up

I am an adult and have probably had ADD all my life. I was dx in my late 20's. I am a nurse and do very well. My son is 18 and has ADD and is starting pre med in Fall. So, no you can do anything you want. Talk to a dr. to see if they can help. Some people have depression, some have ADHD, some have disabilities, but we all find a place. What is normal? I don't know one single person that doesn't struggle with something and we all do just fine! It is what makes me ME. I am grateful and can think of many other things that would be much worse. Thank gosh! I have told the school systems for years 'if I wanted a cookie cutter kid...I would have ordered one". I don't! I like the one I have just the way he is and I can't wait to see how he will change the world! Wishing you the best! ((hugs))
It is not true. AT ALL. Life is what you make of it, you cannot let a.d.d. control you. If you have made it to your senior year of high school- i think you will be just fine. If your a.d.d is a continuous problem for you, speak with your doctor about medication or about changing your current dosage, but do not think that your a.d.d. makes you destined for a terrible life. I know many successful people who have made it through college and through starting-level jobs that have a.d.d. and a.d.h.d. Treat your condition has a blessing instead of a hurdle to overcome.
