Ask your mom if you can get the smaller tampons so you can enjoy the beach party with your friends. Like I mentioned before, they will come with instructions so you will know how to insert them. I asked my mom when I was your age if I could start using tampons and she was alright with that. She got me the small tampons and I used those for a long time. They were great when I wanted to go swimming or had gym class.

I started my period at 13, and I asked the same thing. I looked around online and ended up seeing it all depends on how comfortable you and your mother are with the idea of using a tampon. It's really about your comfort and your mother's comfort in the end. Personally, the idea of sticking something in me gives me the chills.. I only use them when I am on my period and I go swimming (NEVER WEAR A PAD TO SWIM!!!). I am now almost 15 (and petite for my age) and I still use the always radiant tween/teen pads. They are good for a smaller body (like a tween and some teens) yet they are long and are very effective!! Plus, they feel like a liner. Hope that helped! Good Luck!!!

Shock went on for awhile many many years ago and they thought it might be from tampons. It was happening to men also so they're still not sure. I have not heard of any cases in many years so I would say it's safe. But yes, talk to your Dr about this first for your own peace of mind. I was your age when I started using them and so were my sisters and my own daughter. No problems at all.

Um a pad ? Tampons can put your body in shock if not used properly so instead of asking strangers for advice on the internet go talk to someone you actually know . I wouldn't want my daughter on here asking strange people for help about your period

Yes, you should be able to. They have different sizes so buy the smallest to start with. They will come with directions as far as inserting them and such.
