Hi!
First of all congratulations! Yes, labor pains can start at 36 weeks and you can deliver a fully mature baby. Walk around or change position and see if the contractions stop or slow down. If they do it is a false alarm. Also such false contractions are felt only in lower abdomen and pelvis and not in the back. Their force and frequency does not increase with time. Such contractions are also called Braxton Hick’s contractions. If the pains do not fit the above criteria, please consult an obstetrician immediately. Since I cannot examine you I cannot confirm anything for sure. So please be in touch with your obstetrician on a regular basis. Hope this helps. Take care!
