Should I take the Morning After Pill?/Could I be Pregnant?

I had a normal period in May and then did not have any form of sex until a few days before my July period. While we used a condom and the pull-out method, there were moments during foreplay when he was inside me without protection.

My July period has started, but it is very light and not accompanied by the usual cramps and sickness. I'm worried that these may be signs of implantation bleeding or another problem. Since I only had sex within the last three days (and not any time in the month before), should I take the Morning After Pill to make sure that a pregnancy will not occur? Is there a chance I became pregnant within a few days of my period?

Implantation bleeding does not always occur, so it's not a reliable 'symptom' to look for if you are trying to figure out if you're pregnant or not(plus bleeding can be from a number of possible reasons). Also, the morning after pill will disrupt your normal period cycle and can cause you to bleed earlier or later than normal. It can also give you a number of other side effects and can make you have 2 periods in one month just after taking it. The morning after pill is not meant to be taken more than twice in a year, so do try to avoid taking that pill ever again if at all possible. Use this as a learning lesson to be much more careful next time to avoid the stress and an unwanted pregnancy. Take care.

I took the Morning After Pill just to be certain.

If implantation bleeding does not usually occur within a few days of having sex, then it's likely just an early light period and since I hadn't had sex in the month prior (and since my last normal period).

Thank you for your help! I'm likely not pregnant, I just wanted to take the pill within the recommended days just for peace of mind. We will continue to be careful--but be even more so after this.

Thank you so much, cutegirl20.

My usual period is around this time, maybe a few days later.
Do you know how soon after conception implantation bleeding occurs? I would just like to rule it out as a possibility.

hi.. is it the time of your period? if not is it early or late... if yes it is likely yourperiod.. usually implantation bleeding is not actually bleeding rather spotting and is accompanied by a little cramps though it does differ from women to women.. your scare about precum is quite obvious and sorry but there is still a debate whether precum can make a woman pregnant or not.. so can assure u 100% but usually chances of getting pregnant with precum are quite less if not impossible.. i guess the morning after pill is an emergency contraceptive pill.. it usually works best when taken within 72 hrs.. u can take if u wish but it screws up the cycle.. women don't usually conceive very close to their periods unless is very rare cases.. so i guess 95% u are not pregnant but 5% uncertain...
