There isn't always a difference. Only thing you can do to know for sure is take a pregnancy test.
what's the difference? just bleed? or bleeed with same symptoms as menstruation?
That's if it's even a period. It's possible to just bleed while pregnant, and for some it can mimic period bleeding.
im not wanting.. just wanted to be assured that this period proves im not pregnant....
It generally will mean you're not pregnant. Watch the flow and see what it does. If it's similar to a normal cycle then you have nothing to worry about. Otherwise, wait and take a pregnancy test in a few days. Unless you're wanting to get pregnant (I can't tell from your posts if you are) you should always, always use protection. You should also remember the "pull out" method is garbage and does NOT work.
just had my period now.. last time had sex was almost 14 hours ago.. is that goood?

To take your temperature you have to be doing it right. You can't just take it during the day. BBT (basal body temperature) has to be taken in the morning, before you ever make a movement. It also has to be taken at the same time each morning. And no, taking it once or twice does nothing. You have to do it everyday. As the others said, there is NOT a safe time for unprotected sex.
As general guidelines go though, this might help. You seem a little confused. A female will ovulate before she ever menstruates. Ovulation is what actually causes a female to bleed. Usually, a female will ovulate 14 days before her next period is due. I'm not too sure who told you you ovulate 2-4 days before your period, because if you did your Luteal Phase is too short for an egg to implant into the uterine lining. It should be at least 10 days. A female is fertile for 5 days leading up to her ovulation time and sperm can survive for a week in perfect conditions. Unless you track your BBT, observe your own body for changes and use OPK's, when you ovulate is only a guess and can be a poor one at best. It's better to err on the side of caution and use protection unless you know what you're doing.
How are you tracking your temps? If you are not consistently taking your temps daily at the same time, then it won't be accurate. It's just a lot easier to use protection and not have unprotected sex. Save yourself the stress and use protection.
i tracked my temp.. but i only felt it once.. a few weeks ago.... does that help? btw thanks to you both!:)
...what sweetpea said. You don't know for sure if that could be your period, or ovulation or what if you don't track your cycles. So it's not worth the risk. There is no safe time to have sex, and you should use protection at all times. All you can do now is wait and see if your period shows.
Cramps and pain can also be a sign of ovulation, so there is no 'safe' time to have unprotected sex. You wouldn't know if you ovulate on time or later than expected if you don't track your ovulation by taking temps and/or tracking cervical mucus. If you don't want to get pregnant, always use protection from start to finish.
it will still shed off right?
what if there are already symptoms ? like cramps and pain? and i know that menstration are more likely to occur just a few days.. and if i ovulate late it is still unlikely to occur since i know im almost in my period....
Generally speaking there is no 'safe' time to have sex, and pregnancy can happen any time. That being said, a few days before your period is due isn't your most fertile time so chances aren't very high. You ovulate (you most fertile time) around mid cycle, and our bodies need at least 10 days after ovulation (usually around 14 days though) to start a period so you're unlikely to have conceived in that time. Remember though, our cycles can change for no reason at all, so it's entirely possible that you can ovulate late...which would make your period late and you could conceive a few days before you think your period is due. You should be using protection at all times if not TTC.
