Low HCG

Can anyone please advise.

I came off the depo last year which messed up my periods so they are pretty irregular and arrive anything up to 42 days apart..  Anyway, the first day of my last period was 4th July. On the 4th August I did a HPT which was a clear positive.  Repeated test again in shock and got 4 more clear positives using digital test.  Got pregnancy confirmed at Dr last Thursday 7th. (All urine tests). On the 21st day of this cycle I also has my progestrone levels checked and they confirmed that I was ovulating.

Had HCG levels tested last night (blood) but the results are very low 56.  They want to test again in 2 days.  I am so worried that I have had another missed miscarriage as had 1 in May plus 2 more complete miscarriages.  I've had bleeding or spotting.

As my cycle is all over the place it's hard to figure out the length of my cycle etc but I am just really concerned that I've had a positive urine test now for 1 week but the blood level is only 56 I know deep down it should be higher.  I am so confused as my body is playing pregnancy tricks again, huge swollen sore boobs, bloated stomach, nausea, tiredness and mild cramping.

Please help I can't go through this a fourth time!!

Thanks so much for your response and positive words.  Unfortunately today I got the news I was dreading from the hospital, another missed miscarriage.  My HCG levels have gone back down to 41.

This is now my fourth miscarriage. 2 missed and 2 complete.  I feel strangely calm and thoughtful at the moment or may be it's just because I feel so numb having gone through this so many times.

I feel more angry than anything.  I know it was nothing I have done but I just feel so angry as I eat well, don't drink, don't smoke.  I guess life is just so damn cruel sometimes.

I have been referred to a multiple miscarriage specialist now, so hopefully we will get some answers soon.

Now I have the awful task of telling my mum and dad and sister.  Luckily they only know about one of the other miscarriages but I couldn't hide this pregnancy as I was sick and tired constantly and my body was changing for all to see...they guessed before I said anything.

After doing the calculations, If you ovulated 3 days later than you had intercourse, you are exactly on track for week 6.

It actually isnt low.  Week five can range from 19-7340, week six starts at 1080, but you arent quite there yet.  I wouldnt worry at this point.  Wait for your second test and see what happens.  As long as it doesnt fall you are in good shape.  I know they say they are supposed to double in 48 hrs, but mine only went up 20% in that time period and I had a healthy baby boy.
