thanks that really helped me out A LOT !
It really depends on your own personal habits. For example, I chose neither as I don't like the idea of Depo and I'm bad with pills--and if you're not going to take them perfectly there's no use in getting them. I also didn't want anything hormonal, so I opted for the Paragard IUD. It lasts 10 years, doesn't require daily use and is hormone free. Unfortunately I had problems with it and had to get it removed. (It punctured my uterus)
There are a bunch of choices out there. If you're looking for something long term but don't want to have to take it daily, I would recommend Depo or Implanon. (An IUD isn't recommended for women who haven't had children, and my midwife doesn't put it in anyone who hasn't)
Depo lasts for 3 months at a time, and is relatively cheap to get. It's also highly effective at preventing pregnancy. The drawback can be some of the side effects. Weight gain is the biggest complaint.
Implanon is a good choice if you want long term protection with little worry. It's similar to a match and is injected into the arm. It lasts for 3 years and also provides very good protection. Common complaints are soreness at the injection sign.
Then there's also your standard choices. You have the patch, Nuvaring, and then pill and for the most part they're all the same. The difference with these is that you have to use backup protection for at least a month while the said birth control takes affect in your body. Implanon is effective immediately if placed during the first 5 days of your cycle. Depo is effective in the first 24 hours.
You would need to go through all the choices (planned parenthood has a quiz you can use online to narrow down your choices and help you figure out what would work best in your particular situation) and figure out costs as well. Some birth controls pay for themselves in time and if you have insurance (or your parents have it on you) they often will cover much of the costs.
thanks. I've just been worried to death. & yes I'm looking into birth control, maybe the shot. which one would be better? pill or shot in your opinion?
It doesn't sound like pregnancy. Your stomach bulging can be due to diet, stress, constipation (which you stated you already had) gas, water retention, etc. Constipation can also be due to diet, stress, digestive issues, etc. As can flutters. You don't sound pregnant in my personal opinion. However, I would encourage you to look into birth control if you are going to continue being sexually active, as well as using condoms from start to finish. It doesn't matter if he ejaculates in you or not, or how long he penetrates you for. A few seconds is all the time needed to get you pregnant.
