Hypothyroid on meds and EXHAUSTED

I have been complaining that I am completely exhausted to the point it is disturbing my work productivity and ability to do things with my kids for the past about 8 months. I had a multinodular goiter years ago, medicated with no success, then radioactive iodine treatment which basically killed off my thyroid. I have been on levothroxine for years and have have a son since (he is 2.5 years) my doc sent me for labs twice in the last eight months and they have come back "normal". She also found me to be vitamin D deficient. I bruise very easy, heal very slowly and can't get the heck out of my own way to do my work or deal with my kids. HELP..  I have been suffering from migraines for some time and recently had one come on me so quickly as I was passing from one room into the other in the middle of the night when my son woke me that it frightened me. My doc sent me for cat scans and says they showed no issues. My grandparents tell me I had several episodes as a child where I had seizure like events with no cause found and I used to pass out frequently until my teens.  I'm 40 and feel like I am 80 and simply going to fall asleep and not wake one day.

Something natural you can do yourself to help with the thyroid problems and migraine.Do all these daily and over a period of months you will notice benefits.

Thyroid point – press the fleshy bit on palm between  the base of thumb and wrist on both hands. Where  you feel sharp pain,  press there 50 times daily.

Ujjayi pranayam
Procedure: While breathing in, tighten throat(contract glotis) and there will be sound from back of throat, then drop chin(rest chin on chest), hold breath as long as possible. Then  chin up, close right nostril and slowly breath out through left nostril.
Duration: 5 – 21 times

How to do Ujjayi
When you clear your throat, you tighten your throat and breath out, twice, with a pause in between. . Now if you reverse this, that is, tighten the throat and breath in continuously for abour 8 to 12 seconds, then hold your breath for 4 seconds with the chin down, then  chin up, close right nostril and slowly breath out through left nostril, you have just done Ujjayi pranayam. You will feel like coughing initially.

Build up your timing gradually. If you feel tired or dizzy, stop and resume after one minute.
Kapalbhati pranayam -(Do it before eating) Push air forcefully out through the nose about once per second. Stomach will itself go in(contract in). The breathing in(through the nose) will happen automatically. Establish a rhythm and do for 20 to 30 minutes twice a day. Children under 15 years – do 5 to 10 minutes twice a day.
Not for pregnant women. Seriously ill people do it gently.

Anulom Vilom pranayam –
Close your right nostril with thumb and deep breath-in through left nostril
then – close left nostril with two fingers and breath-out through right nostril
then -keeping the left nostril closed  deep breath-in through right nostril
then - close your right nostril with thumb and breath-out through left nostril.
This is one cycle of anulom vilom.
Repeat this cycle for 15 to 30  minutes twice a day.
Children under 15 years – do 5 to 10 minutes twice a day.
You can do this before breakfast/lunch/dinner or before bedtime or in bed.Remember to take deep long breaths into the lungs. You can do this while sitting on floor or chair or lying in bed.

Bhramri Pranayam -Close eyes. Close ears with thumb, index finger on forehead, and rest three fingers on base of nose touching eyes. Breathe in through nose. And now breathe out through nose while humming like a bee.
Duration : 5 to 21  times.

Thank you. I have been thinking the same thing. It is hard to find an endocrinologist in my area but I am on the hunt.

I have no specific recommendations - would consider an endocrinology second opinion to review symptoms, labs and history.
