When I first started getting treatment my tsh was at 4,xx and my free's in the lower range. I had to prove my point with all my symptoms and the AACE lowering the tsh range. I was put on synthroid didn't like it went to armour then naturthroid.
I do not have current labs since I have not had insurance for a few months. But I know when I am good and not so good when I am on the right level of meds I have a monthly cycle and when I am not I don't. I have a cycle for the past 4 months and that is huge for me I have not had a regular cycle for 7 years! When I lowered my meds according to my blood work my periods stopped. That's just my tell all symptom. Instead of fixing my problem a while back they wanted to put me on fertility drugs.
Now that we are done having children my problem is fixed sometimes I say maybe I should just go hypo to avoid that time of the month ;)
Do you have any thyroid labs you can post - results and reference ranges? Have you been put on any thyroid med?
I've not read too much regarding a link between zinc and hypo, but when I had my micronutrient test a year ago, that was one of the levels that came back low, along with selenium, magnesium, vitamin D and some others. The only reason my vitamin B12 was okay is because I was taking shots every 2 weeks, but even at that, my levels were less than 1/2 the range; I'm now on weekly shots.
I agree that it's often necessary to take printed material to your doctor in order to get a diagnosis of your problems. Doctors seem to be in such a hurry to herd us through so they can get to the next patient, they often don't even really LOOK at our labs; they see that they are "in range" and let it go at that........ for many of us, that's not good enough.
