They are symptoms of both hyper and hypo for me...basically not enough saliva and my mouth feeling like a sewerage (hehehe).
I drink plenty of water when I feel like this.
Usually the only 'cure' is getting your levels right and within range.
Thanks. Yes I drink a lot of water which causes me to urinated frequently. But my doctor warns me about water intoxication from too much water. I've been given 'pilocarpine hcl 5mg tabs' to produce saliva. Concerned about taking this. Haven't been given any meds for hyperthyroidism as of yet.
I have always been told that water is the best thing you can drink and the more of it, the better as it flushes the sytem out.
I've never heard of water intoxication.
Have you had a TSI test done for Graves to diagnose it?
The TSI test is the only test that will give you 100% result.
I drink about about 135 oz of water a day. Thats just water. I also drink juice and herbal tea. I am started to wonder it this can affect my medication for graves.
No it wont affect your meds.
In actual fact, it will flush the kidneys and liver as the anti-thyroid meds usually accelerate the enzymes in the Liver.
This is something you should be keeping an eye on and tested.
ALT & AST tests or liver function.
