Better not be from Synthroid ....

I had anxiety and true hot flashes yesterday ......... nice, huh?  and this was on the heals of an 8 day long monthly cycle from HE)) on the trip to the shore early August and I usually get it 3 days tops and this has been the case for the past 5 yrs!!!!!

I took my 100mcgs Synthroid today and will see what happens today.

Could have been stress from a memorial service I had to attend but I never get anxiety like that nor do I EVER got hot flashes to the point I removed my blazer and couldn't care less about my  Melanoma scar showing LOL!

Maybe beginnings of perimenapous mm hmmmmmm .. I'm 48 but I wonder wonder wonder bcz my TSH was 0.669 and that was only 4 weeks into the 100mcgs vs. 88 and now I am a good 8 weeks into the 100mcgs so we shall see won't we ?

The only other oddity going on is I *think* I have a Urinary Tract Infection or irritation going on since passing the stone on vacation (tiny stone/gravel as I didn't see it but I felt it for a few hours) .... maybe that is messing things up .. I will give that a few more days to resolve and will go to Dr if not gone by mid-week .. the symptoms are mild and intermittent with spasms and slight burning ... I usually test negative to UTI's all the time so it becomes a guessing game which antibiotic to go on and for how long but usually within 48hrs symptoms get better .. I just hate to take antibiotic w/o a true positive urinalysis or culture but bcz I harbour stones deep in the kidney sometimes they get infected and they show negative urine .. lucky I have a Uro who has taught me well and my Prim Dr. gets it also.

Had another thought.  Having thyroid problems does bring on early menopause and 48 is not an uncommon age to start through it anyway.  One of my s-i-l is late 40's and already gone through it.
But maybe it was just the wine. ;)

I hate for this to be the answer, but have you considered a hysterectomy?  I had the same probs w/my cycle, just could not get it together.  Had hysterectomy almost 4 mos ago and don't miss it one bit.  Just be sure they leave your ovaries.  Hope this helps!

When it gets reallly hot like this it messes with my periods.  S-i-l also.  We have been talking about this a lot lately.  We're both really late and she's usually like clock work.  I hate skipping one b/c when I do have one it will be he//.  When they are worse makes my hot flashes worse, too.  But it could have just been the wine. ;)

Thanks on your thoughts and comments ....................I was drinking wine (only had 1 glass) at the time of the hot flash and was thinking maybe I hadn't had enough real liquids yesterday myself so maybe ???

Problem as dartfrog mentioned is no way to know for certain if irritation or true infection ... don't have time to go to Dr right now LOL as going to visit my mom overnight so kids can use her pool the next AM at the community where she lives .. we have free tickets to a six flags Safari so will do that, too, and rest my ankle in the car!

Will push some more cranberry juice .. it seemed to work and then it reapeared ... that is what I'll do for now I guess.

Hoping the anxiety thing was the same as I told the Endo awhile back . I'm fine on the 88 or 100 unless something else is on my mind and then I cross over to feeling more anxious ???? (you know the feeling .. not just the normal anxious feeling .. hard to explain .. it is more driven by real anxiety and not just uncomfortable feeling) .. she said if not interfering with daily life try the 100 so I'll let this pass and see what happens as today is better than yesterday so maybe a case of the nerves triggered by the dear loss of a very good friend of mine who was 87 but I've been friends with for 25+ yrs.

The period thing:  Next mo will tell more but can by synthroid or age or mobic for the foot, too, cannot foget that anti-inflammatory ..... C~

Nice huh, like we need anything else to deal with?  My periods have been so heavy since tt- I hope it is because I am still extremely hypo even on my new dose (150mcg).  I have headaches every morning- like a hangover without the fun the night before- and as soon as I take my synthroid in the morning, it goes away.  I hope your symptoms subside.  Take care.

Are you running a fever by chance?  Just a thought.  Also, if you're just finishing your cycle, your hormones could be a lot of the reason for the "flashes".  I know that I'm normally cold (maybe that'll change now, huh?), but at that time of the month for whatever reason, I have hot flashes typically in the morning when I'm trying to get ready.  Makeup, curling irons and sweat do NOT mix!!!

Hope you get past this really soon.  I'm sure you're just slightly frustrated.

sorry your feeling bad. Have you been pushing fluids? ok history of kidney stones...stupid question :-)

I wonder how much this heat wave is effecting everyone.....I mean going in and out .....the temperture difference between outside and inside the a.c. is huge! You'd think that has to be messing with a lot of people.

Could be that your stone scratched you on its way out? Hopefully what your feeling is just healing going on and not a true infection.

I hope your feeling btter soon.
