Can anyone explain ultrasound report

a discrete solid nodule in left lobe measuring 2.7 cm in maximun diameter . Also a small echogenic nodule is also visible in the right lobe inferiorly measuring 4 mm in diameter.

The gland is of diffusely inhomogeneous echogenicity bilaterally.
I am being sent for a aspiration needle biopsy of the dominant left lobe nodule.

Discrete means well-defined, which is actually a good sign

I had that same word "discrete"in mine and not sure what that means ... maybe being there not interfering with anything ? But I'm not a Dr. Just a patient like you.  It is solid so that is why they will biopsy along with it being over 1.0cm ... most are benign but you are wise to have the FAN done.
