As if there isn't enough going on.... Last week a struck the back of my head hard on the door frame of my parents' car. :( ouch, I know. I've been having pain and some dizzines/blurred vision since then. So, I go to an urgent care doctor, who sends me for a CT scan, "if it'll make you happy". Well, yes, being cautious helps. Lo and behold, I get a preliminary diagnosis of exophthalmos. I peeked at my paperwork that was in a sealed envelope intended for the doctor, but I won't be going back until tomorrow. I looked this condition up, and a barrage of causes comes up. One of them is Graves'. Okay, I can deal with that, but I had a total thyroidectomy 7 years ago, and I definitely have no problem gaining weight. Another cause could be trauma to the brain. Okay, sounds like it could be from the injury. Many other causes that I'd rather ignore. I think. Because, if it's from hitting my head, I should probably be getting more tests done. Long story for a short question: Is it possible to have Graves' after thyroidectomy, and only presenting on the right eye? By the way, I have a headache!
