Oh Barbbbb....Remember me .  The one that fired my doctor!! haha  I am already there!!!  I had the crazy doc!!!  no really, I thought all the same things.  that is why I did not make a comment.  Wante dto see what members had to say.  No they basically said that everything looke Great!! just keep up the dosage as it was adequate.  I am on Centrum Silver also and it has only 800 mgs Vitamin D, so maybe starting with the 1000??? and then increasing...AND I HAD TO ASK  what my Laberesults where,, they said "NORMAL", had to ask for the actual numbers and a copy,  then i had to ASK again for my Vitamin D numbers. was told it was just fine ,,,again with the asking for the numbers.    and that was my $120.00 consult with the Nurse Practioner and why I asked again that I thought I had an appt with "The Doctor"...
Soooo I don't think they will be running that FT3 for me....hahaha
Said that my 3.78 wa perfect,,,down from 6.6.  so that was greaaattt .
So I am making an appt at KelseySebold in Houston where my motherin law was sent after her pituitary tumor ruptured.  Her endo is there and a great wonderful guy.  I would have seen him before but they did not take my ins.  new insurance now and they do, have already e'd them to make me an appt..  Their philosphy is to have all drs, testing, labs, pharmacy everything under one roof and that they work for the patient.  They consult with each dr on the patient team and want the patient involved in all decision making!!  Going to make apt with Rhemo and Gastro too.
I will get that FT3 tested yet!! and will follow your advice and have the D retested soon.

Also found out that 2 meds i am on causes BP increases and one of them has warning about to contact dr immed if face, hands, and feet swell.  I have brain fog!! Can't remember all of these little warnings they put on every sheet.  But I am learningnoese will so I guess I gotta get that sand out of my ears and eyes and pay attention!!!

your comments always make me feel validated and that I am on the right track, so please keep them coming!!!    -sass-

"Just barely deficient"?  You can try the OTC vitamin D, but I'd sure want it rechecked in a few weeks to see if your level is coming up.

Your FT4 is right at mid range, so if we went just by that, the 88 mcg levo would be fine; however, with TSH at 3.78, you are hypo. AND we don't know what your FT3 is so we don't know if you are converting the FT4 properly.  Did they not "notice" the high TSH, or just didn't think it significant?

Is there any way you can get them to do an FT3?

I'm beginning to think you should start shopping for a different doctor.

Oh sorry i just remembered one more thing.  The iron may constipate you a little bit so you may want to pick up some fiber pills to take as well.

Your D is low.  Classic symptom of hashimotos.  I personally take Solgar gentle Iron which are 25 MG.  I take started with 1 every meal I ate and took it with a 1000 MG vitiman C.  The Vitiman C helps you with digesting the iron.  This iron is better absorbed than the ferrous sulfate and does not have the weird iron metal taste once you get on it.  I have now worked my way up to 2 with each meal, for a total of 10 per day.  My Iron level went from 22 to 34 in 6 weeks.  I am told that the better the iron is, the better you will be able to tolerate thyroid.  I have not been able to tolerate the thyroid and am trying to get my iron closer to 50.  There is also another brand called "blue bonnet" that is highly recommended as well.  Both you can purchase from amazon.com and I get the Solgar Iron from Vitiman shoppe.  Be really careful to moniter your iron as too much is not good either.
