Feeling Tired

Hi.
I have only been taking thyroid tablets for a week now and have been feeling more tired than ever.

The headaches have ceased but i am now finding it more difficult to wake up in the mornings. Going to bed at 10 and not getting out of bed gone 10. Just can't get up early at the moment.

Is this normal?

You won't feel any affects of the meds the first week or so. By the second week you should start to feel a little more energy. But really it takes a full 6 weeks to regulate at any new dosage.
You are feeling the affects of being hypo, not affects of meds. It can be a long tiring process, but hang in there and know that better days are coming. Use this time to get plenty of rest and to give yourself a break. It is your bodies way of telling you that you need it at this moment.
25mcg may only be your starting dosage....you should be retesting in 6 weeks again and thereafter until optimal levels are reached.
You will feel better soon....hang in there! :)

My result was 7.17 miu/l (0.3 - 4.2)

I am taking 25mg a day at the moment.

I've always felt tired but since taking these it has been ridiculous and i sleep like a log.

Hi .. may we ask what was your thyroid condition and what meds and dosing are you on along with what was your TSH when you began .. all those may help us with some ideas.

Hang in there .. it's a tedious adjustment period but once you get it down pat you'll probably be feeling better soon and it's worth it in the long run.

C~
TSH 2.4
Synthroid 62.5mcgs
