After my first child, I was diagnosed with thyroiditis; first being Hyperthyroid then hypo, but resolving itself rather quickly and with no meds. Now after my second child was born 11 months ago I feel like my body has gone through the ringer. About four months after my child was born my TSH was .02 decreasing to .01 for about 4 months (hyperthyroid), then in December my TSH jumped up to 27; hypo (in 2 weeks). My Endo put me on .25 of Levothyroxine, since then my TSH has dropped every couple of weeks ( I swear I can feel when it drops, I feel like I got hit by a mack truck).  Three weeks ago my primary checked my TSH and it was 2.8, and last Friday it was at 1.92. My questions is; I will feel really good for a couple of days and then all of the sudden I feel lightheaded, dizzy, have panic attacks, and my eyes get so heavy I could just fall over, not to mention the body aches, light headaches, and some irritability. Has this happened to anyone? Could it be that my numbers are dropping so quickly, or that they haven't been stable long enough to feel good? should I see another (type of) specialist? Do I just need to be patient? I asked my primary, and she recommended antidepressants, but I don't think I am depressed? Can any one help????

Thank you so much. I have noticed it is a little worse before my cycles, I have had my blood work for hormone levels checked and they all seem to come back normal. I do get extremely lightheaded and tired though, so I might ask my OB/GYN. Thank you!

I agree wtih Kitty and want to add I get those same feelings and mine are female hormonal in nature and occur around the middle/end of my monthly period.  You may want to see an OB/GYN, too, to consult on that end if your hormones are ok since the birth of your last child?

I know some of what you are feeling.

I think you need to give it more time at this dose. It takes 6-8 weeks for the med to fully work.

Are you still on 25 mcg?

It could be transient hypo as it was with your first child. You may not need meds at all.

See an endocrinologist in this situation for the best advice.

Don't fall for the antidepressant option unless you need to see a psychiatrist.(I fell for it 1 month before diagnosis)

This all sounds physical based on the thyroid history.
