From iodine deficient to excess

I was iodine deficient (I did not use iodinised salt) and was hypothyroid, so I started to use iodine supplements but now I am hyperthyroid. What shall I do? I stopped taking iodine supplements, and I eat goitrogenic food. Is that ok? I will see my endo soon.

I have only older results showing that I am hypothyroid. On Monday I am going to get new results. I now that I am hyperthyroid because I now urinate all the time, I am always thirsty, have more frequent bowel, my heart rate is much greater, and so on... Of course only lab results are relevant, but I had to react on my own to lessen symptoms.

If you have nodules in your thyroid, taking iodized salt can make them to overproduce hormones, causing hyperthyroidism.[Am.English term: Nodular Toxic goiter].
Cutting down iodine can be good temporary measure.
For further treatment you will need
1) Ultrasound imaging of the thyroid to see if any nodules are present;
2) RAI imaging test which will show “hot nodules”[nodules that overproducing hormones.
The nodules are found in the iodine deficient goiters among the people of 25 years old or older.
Could also be the Iodine - caused thyroid inflammation [would show "hot" areas, but no nodules on the ultrasound]
