If you're feeling that poorly, your med isn't adjusted properly.  Maybe you should start your own thread and list your symptoms, along with current lab results and the reference ranges. Not sure how much exercise you get, but that can affect cholesterol, triglycerides and blood sugar. I'm not looking forward to my next ones, because I haven't been exercising this summer.

As for thyroid affecting life -- yes, of course, it does, because the thyroid controls those body processes that make us comfortable (metabolism, body temperature, heart rate, etc), not to mention the psychological aspect of it.  I think that takes an almost bigger toll than the physical part of it sometimes, because we struggle to keep going and it can be very discouraging.

I never missed a single day of work, due to my thyroid, but by the time I got home, I had no energy left for anything and all I wanted to do lay down and sleep, but when I went to bed, often, I either couldn't get to sleep or I'd wake up around 1:30-2:00 and couldn't get back to sleep - at that time, I was getting up for work at 3:30 am, so waking up too early really took a toll. During the same period, I was dealing with an elderly Aunt in another city, so my weekends were taken up making the trip back and forth to care for her and her home, plus trying to my own housework, yardwork and laundry caught up.  A lot of family time went by the wayside while I simply struggled to stay afloat.

Unfortunately, there's no quick way to fix a thyroid issue; it takes time to get the med adjusted, because each dosage takes a while to reach full potential; even longer if one happens to have a doctor that doesn't test FT3/FT4 and/or goes only by TSH or reference ranges, even s/he does test FT levels. Those doctors keep their patients ill much longer than needed.

!@## yes!  I have no life!  I'm not me anymore and I never know when I will have a flare up of symptoms, like dizziness etc.., so i don't drive and can't make plans.  I don't look or feel like myself and I think the only thing that hasn't been effected is my hearing.  I was told that the thyroid meds would make me feel good as new..that was in 2010.  I think I need to find other treatment. My meds don't work..somethings really wrong here!  I have Hashi's, have tried all the thyroid meds, still have high cholesterol and trigs, now high sugar etc..Keep hoping that with each dose adjustment it will finally help, but get so down because it never happens.  My life is on hold as I watch others living life..I mean I have trouble eating, breathing and sleeping and my vision is messed up.  I feel so alone at times and just want the suffering to end and my doc has no sense of urgency to fix this and has no clue about many of my symptoms! Thanks for reading my rant!
