Hi All,
About 5 monthes ago in a routine blood test, my TSH was 6.8. I was told to have a follow up blood test 3 monthes after. When I did, my TSH was .16. The dr. assumed it was a lab error so I had another blood test, and it was .10. I had a sono which showed a multinodular goiter. The largest nodule is 8 mm. I was given a referral for a thyroid scan. The scan showed the multinodular goiter and the thyroid was irregular which I was told was normal with having a goiter. The nodules were neither hot or cold. I took all these results to an endocrinologist who did another blood test before taking something for hyperthyroidism. It came back with the TSH being 4.78 and the T4free was now 1.0, I was really glad that I , for now, don't have to take medication, but the dr. said to have another blood test in July to check. She said that it could be stress that caused the thyroid to change so suddenly. Has anyone else had changes like this, without medication? What was the reason for you?
