Hetrogenous thyroid

ten years ago the left lobe of thyroid was removed due to large goiter/Hashimoto's.  Been on thyroid meds ever since.  It has been regulated through the years.  Last month was sent for US of thyroid.  Report shows Hetrogenous appearance of right thyroid gland with lobulated margins measuring 2.5 x 1.8 cm.   What is meant by hetrogenous and what is lobulated margins?  Thank you.

Thanks for your reply,  I don't see my Dr. until next week.  I picked up the report at the imaging center.
