Hypothyroid Medicine and Tachycardia

Can someone help me please?  I was recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism 3 months ago.  I tested positive for antibodies, low T4 and my tsh was at 2.9.  All of my symptoms were in line with a hypo diagnosis as well.  My 1st 6 week check up being on the medicine and my tsh had moved down to 2.4.  I just had my 2nd 6 week check up (after having increased my medicine) and my T4 is still low and tsh is up again to 2.6.  Now, my starting dose of Levoxyl was at 25mg and was upped to 37 mg.  My endo wants to up me to 50 mg.  Here's my dilema...I have mild, occassional tachycardia which I am on a beta blocker for.  I'm nervous about going to 50 mg and having my heart race.  Anyone have advice for me?  I really don't want to end up hyperthyroid but my dr. is very confident that the increase will not affect my heart.  Thanks!

I have mild tachycardia and am on 75mcgs of Levoxyl. I am a little hyper at this stage. Has made no difference that I can see. Endo says wait and see, won't hurt me any.

Also, you are already on a beta and that's what they would give you if you were hyperthyroid.
I'm not on a beta.

The only time my heart raced was when I was hyper.  I would think if your heart started doing this the dr would be able to change things around immediately and you would get quick relief.  Now I do know that tachycardia can be more serious than that, so I will assume that you have a cardiologist.  Have you talked to he/she about it and the risks?  If you have multiple drs it is essential to keep everyone up to speed on all that you are going through and any meds you are taking.  It should be no big deal for all of them to keep each other informed.  That is part of their job.  They should all be working together.

Good luck with everything and keep us posted.
