We need to know the actual lab numbers, in order to comment more fully. Some people tend to get worse for a while once they start on medication, so without the labs, we don't know what was going on.
If you thyroid counts were low, I don't understand why the doctor would lower your med, unless by "thyroid counts", he's strictly going by TSH....which isn't even a thyroid hormone; it's a pituitary hormone that's often suppressed once we get on medication.
If your doctor is not testing for Free T3 and Free T4, as well as TSH, you need to find one who will, because this one will keep you on a constant roller coaster.
i was told i was hypo then was told i had too much synthroid lowered my dose still did not feel good and now he has taken me off all thyroid meds so with out any meds is this good
i was hypo i was told so was taking the 88 mcgs and then i felt really funny headache nausea dizzy wobbly on my feet and like my head felt real funny inside. two weeks prior i had an injection of depo medrol into my hip joint and after that i also felt dizzy and nausea, so i went to the doctor he took blood and said my thryroid counts were extremely low, what ever that means, so he took me of the 88 and put me on 75 i still was not feeling much better so he took me off everything. so now i dont know what my count is. the injection is a long lasting one. he thinks i had a bad reaction to the injection and on top of that my thyroid
Do you have actual results you can post, so we can see what your thyroid levels really are? Be sure to include reference ranges, because these vary lab to lab and must come from your own report.
If you are truly hypo and need the medication, you will get very ill if you stop taking the medication. Without medication for a very long time, you could actually die, though that's very rare, since you will eventually begin feeling so horrible, you will seek medical care.
