IS IT NORMAL TO

IS IT NORMAL TO FEEL TIRED ALL THE TIME AFTER A THYROIDECTOMY? AND THE KILLER MUSCLE SPASMS ? I GET THOSE DARN THINGS DAILY FOR NO REASON AT ALL AND I HONESTLY CAN'T HELP IT BUT WHEN ONE COMES UP I START TALKING LIKE A SAILOR :-) AND MY WHOLE BODY FEELS SOAR. SORT OF WISH I STILL HAD MY THYROID.........:-(

I DON'T KNOW THE ONLY PILLS I'M TAKING ARE THE ONES I STATED, SHOULD I BE ON SOMETHING ELSE?. IT FEELS LIKE MY LEGS ARE GOING TO GIVE OUT LIKE MY BODY IS ONE BIG BRUISE !! I HATE THIS IT'S LIKE ONE THING AFTER ANOTHER...................

I'M ON 500mg OF CALCIUM W/ VITAMIN D THREE X'S A DAY AND LEVOTHYROXINE 75mg . I TALKED TO MY DOCTORS MA AND THEY TOLD ME MY CALCIUM LEVEL WAS GOOD SO I DON'T KNOW I JUST HATE FEELING THIS WAY, I GET A PAIN IN MY NECK THAT TRAVELS TO MY JAW , LIKE IF YOU TURN A CERTAIN WAY AND YOU GET A CRAMP I HATE THAT AND IF FEELS LIKE SOMEONE IS CHOKING ME FROM THE INSIDE OUT !!! MY TREMORS HAVEN'T GONE AWAY AND I BASICALLY FEEL LIKE POOP ALL DAY......................I WANT MY THYROID BACK

and one thing. for high tsh level, sometimes u can feel tired. it can be random also. u didnt say that u take RAI or not. some times for weakness u can feel joint pain also. mostly knee pain. all for thyroid.

utah is quit true. i have also the same exprience. and 1fter 40 days of surgery, still i feel like that muscle pulling. and somthing like mild sore throat.but doctor and other expert said that all happen for thyroid. many days i also experienced for broken sleep. now is ok. i just waiting for RAI. it will start soon. then give me the xtra hormone capsule. But i take calcium food. i just nearly ok now. and dont take anxity.and i am only 30 male. so dont so scared.

What meds do they have you on???   It sounds like your thyroid replacement level is too low and that you *NEED* calcium!

The cramps come from the parathyroid being damaged (or just irritated) during thyroid surgery.  This is very, very common.  You need to be on calcium (with vitamin D) because if your body doesn't have enough calcium to run the system it will start pulling it from your bones and muscles.
