Thank you for responding!  I was diagnosed with papillary carcinoma with a follicular variant in 2003. Had my thyroid and isthmus removed leaving one parathyroid.  I had radiation and sat in a lead room for 4 days. A year later it metastasized to my lymph nodes. Had 2 more radical dysections removing the lymph nodes and did well for a while.  Now the lymph nodes are back in my neck causing pressure on the carotid and lots of pain. I have lymph nodes on my left hip that hurt and go all the way down to the top of my left thigh. I have been told that I know longer have thyroid cancer and it looks like a low grade lymphoma. The oncologist I'm seeing says he's not convinced it's cancer.

I was in the hospital a couple of days ago with a pain level of 7/8 from my neck. I thought I had tonsillitis. The Er doc said my tonsils had atrophied and that it felt like there may be a blockage or some kind of abscess.  So they told me to go over the hill to a larger hospital that could do a mri. I went to the other hospital. They're thoughts were the same and they did some blood work and a CAT scan.  The scan showed several lymph nodes and they were not in the carotid this time. Just behind it pushing and causing the pain. My airways are fine at this time so they sent me home and told me to follow up with my oncologist whom I don't see until May.

Here are all of the values...I hope this helps.

I agree that you appear to have some sort of infection or inflammation going on.

Your TSH is higher than normal (0.3-3.0), and without a reference range for the FT4, it's hard to say on that one, but judging from ranges we often see for FT4, yours is high.  High TSH and high FT4, could indicate a pituitary issue, or it could mean that you aren't converting FT4 to FT3, which is the actual "usable" hormone.

You said you only listed the abnormal results; what other tests were done? Those would be just as important, to get the whole picture, as the abnormal ones.  Was an FT3 done? If so, what was the result and its reference range?  Were there any antibody tests?

From the lab test you have posted and the levels, I would go as far as to say you have Hypothyroidism.
Have you been tested for Hashimoto's?
You really need antibody testing down to see whether you have Hypothyroidism or Autoimmune Hashimoto's.

Sorry I am not aware of your medical history.

ALT is liver enzymes...these rise when Hypo.
Protein also rises with Hypothyroidism.
WBC is white blood count and this can be elevated usually if there is inflammation or an infection.
Your TSH is higher than it should be which could be Hypothyroidism.

Next time you go for labs , ask for TPO (antibody testing), FREE T3, FREE T4 and TSH.

It seems you have some sort of infection or inflammation going on in yr body and I would say its your thyroid because of the higher than normal TSH.

I hope that helps you somewhat.
When do you see your Doctor and what does he/she have to say about the results?
