Need help reading Thyroid ultrasound results.

FINDINGS:
Right lobe thyroid gland: 5.5 cm in length by 1.7 x 1.1 cm in
cross-section. Numerous small nodules scattered throughout the right
lobe largest of these about 3.3 x 2.6 mm appearing partially solid and
cystic with additional small hypoechoic nodule appearing more solid
smaller in size.

Left lobe: 6.4 cm in length by 1.8 x 1.1 cm in cross-section. For the
left lobe there is a mostly solid lesion along the lower mid pole of
the kidney at 1.5 x 0.8 x 1.1 cm in size with additional smaller
nodules seen one in the lower pole mostly solid and measuring 5.3 x
4.3 mm in cross-section with additional smaller nodules seen
elsewhere.

Isthmus: No focal abnormality

IMPRESSION:
Bilateral thyroid nodules largest of which involves the left lobe and
appears mostly cystic

The main thing you focus on is the impression.  According to your report, it is normal.  You just have a lot of cyst (nodules).The thyroid has a butterfly shape with a left and right lobe.  You just mainly want to keep a check on these.  They are usually benign but can be cancerous.  Sometimes people just have them removed or biopsied.
