Need help with my ultrasound results!!!

Can you please help me to understand these Ultrasound results after a CT scan of the neck.
THe thyroid is of normal size showing a heterogeneous echotexture.   No evidence of nodules on
right.   Within the isthmus towards the right is a hypoechoic nodule measuring 8.6mm.
within the mid to lower pole of the left lobe is a *hypoechoic nodule measuring 1.1cmX 5.1mm X
8.8mm this has a somewhat *hypoechoic inner portion {this does not sound good??}
Blood flow is seen within this on color flow imaging.  This is considered a domiinant nofule.

I'm VERY concerned about the blood flow and dominant nodule.  Can they tell all that from these
tests.  What else could it be with blood flow???  I have a two and three year old and I'm very
concerned.  I also have swollen lymph nodes, although very small.  Only one on the left and two on
the right, which is why they first ordered the CT Scan.

The CT scan also showed..  Small bilateral jugulodigastic lymph nodes None  appear to be pathologically
enlarged. THere is no evidence  for supraclavicul adenapathy.

THis was my first time with an ENT dr.  He sent me for all these tests, but has never talked to me.  His secretary calls to tell me I need more tests.  I'm very worried.  I will have a FNB next Thursday, but do I need one because I'm scared that will cause more problems.  Please give me some answers????   Thank you

I have am going thru  a similar  thing. I have been seeing a, the c word Dr. He tells me it is normal for the node to remain large. The node can build up scar tissue and never return to normal size. Don't freak out, I know  easy to say but to do is totally a diffirent story. C word nodes don't get bigger than smaller. If they are only getting bigger you may have a little room to worry. The biopsy should tell all. Hope it all works out.

What is cystic degeneration and would they be able to tell all of that with the FNA?  The report said I have a normal thyroid size, but I do feel my neck swelling once in awhile.  Do you think I'm always going to have problems now that I have these nodules? could  they go down, disappear {wishful thinking}  Thank you for your comments

Thank you so much for your reply...I've been checking back every few minutes for one.  This is actually the first response I've gotten.  I've never been sick in any way and I have two young children.  I'm feeling my neck every 5min. and cant do anything without thinking about what the results will be, what I should do next.  My only other question would be if It thankful turns out to be benign would I still want to get my thyroid out or part of it?  It seems lke so many people have had benign results only to have it removed and find out its something else.  I cant even say the C word.  I have lost many family due to that word but luckily not lung or thyroid.  Last night I felt like my neck was swelling and I looked into the mirror and my eyes seemed so big, I then felt like I was having more trouble breathing, maybe its nerves now, I dont know.  Thank you so much, I will let you know what happens.  I have to get my two and three year old before they destroy the house.  At least they keep me busy so my minds off of this for a few minutes?

Dominant nodule is the largest one; heterogeneous echotexture suggests of past thyroid inflammation.
The biopsy is orderd for largest nodule is beacuse it is hypoechoic and larger then 1 cm.
Most solid nodules with internal blood flow are hypoechoic.
50% of benign nodules have intranodular blood flow.
this nodule can be solid nodule undergoing beginning stage of cystic degeneration

Hi and welcome.  I'm not a Dr., but a thyroid patient who had hypoechoic nodules, too, which turned out to be totally benign.  It's important to have the FNA done to see what's going on.  It would be like having a lump in your breast and not testing it for cancer ... you probably wouldn't consider not having a biopsy.  Hypoechoic I believe means solid in nature from the ultrasound sound waves.  Doesn't necessarily mean bad .. vasularity is blood flow -- I'm not sure on that being I'm not too techno savvy.  But some other words didn't jump out such as calcification, etc. so don't worry too too much.  90% are nothing.  Mine tested FNA atypical which lead to surgery not knowing for sure what was going on.

One step at a time.

And, maybe go to our health pages where's there's a great article posted in there on FNA's FAQ's which can help you a lot.
