thyroid nodule w/calcification

I have been getting ultrasounds everysix months now for a year and half. Nodules did grow to 8.8mm from 3.2. All impressions show Thyroid Nodule containing calcifications has increased in size. My ultrasound of two weeks ago reads 8mm heterogeneous nodule left thyroid lobe with calcifications No change from last study. Now reading all about this I am concerned about the hetergeneous and calcification part. But two doctors seem that it is nothing to worry about I have read every web site and they all say patient should have a Fine needle biopsy. At wits end don't know if I should try another Dr. Please help. Also strong family history of thyroid cancer, Mother, Grandmother. Oh yes Radilogist who reads these findings suggest possibilty of malignancy on every finding. Thank You

You should have a biopsy just because of the history in your family. Most definitly and certainly if the radiologist said possible malignacy. That is crucial you get this done yesterday if not sooner.

Good Luck to you!

WHY HAVEN'T YOU HAD A BIOPSY????  It is relatively painless, and can tell you most times if it is cancer.  If you have a history of thyroid cancer, what are you waiting for?  A spanking?  Well here it is!!!  GET A BIOPSY!!!  I have Papillary cancer, my sister has it too, my other sister has nodules and is being tested for cancer, two of my brothers (so far) have Hashimoto's as did my Dad.  Don't you see the family connection?  Stop watching and take some action on this, it could mean your life.
