Non toxic goiter

I have been diagnosed with non toxic goiter. A complete health check found that my blood levels were all normal but a physical examination shows enlarged thyroid gland. The doctor says i don't need to worry, but are there any risks involved having Goiter?

Latent iodine deficiency in the childhood may later show up as non-toxic nodular goiter

I forgot to mention that i am 47 years old and don't seem to have any thyroid symptoms
