Pregnancy and Hypothyroism

I was recently put on synthrod and metaformin after being dyagnosed with hypothyrodism. My husband and I have been trying to concieve for a year now, I have had regular periods up to this point all my life, ever since the doc. put me on these meds I do not have a monthly cycle. I know I need to keep track of when I ovulate, but how do I do that if I am not having a period? Can you still ovulate if you don't have a peroid?  And why am I not having a cycle? I'm confused and getting discouraged.

Hi,

what are your TSH, FT3 and FT4 levels?  If these are normal probably not the cause of your missing periods?

you need to discuss with your doctor about your periods and TTC.  You may need more djustment of meds / testing.

yes, you can ovulate without having a period, but it is less likely.

Have you taken a pregnancy test, just in case?
