Side effects of synthroid?

Hi,

I was recently diagnosed with hypothyroid due to low t3 levels. I was sick with a "mono-like" virus which my endo thinks may have caused this issue. I was put on 50 mcg to see if it bumps it up. Recently I have been getting bad headaches, dizziness, and ear pain. Could this be caused by the synthroid? I also just went for an mri and vestibular testing as well.

I am awaiting my lab results .. I started on 25 mcg for a week but was bumped up after that.. about 3-4 weeks since starting synthroid was when I got these symptoms. I have been on it for about 6 weeks now.

50 mcg of what? Synrthroid?

That's a pretty hefty dose to start at...... How long have you been on it?

You may have been started at too high a dose; it's usually best to start  much lower and work up slowly. Many people  report worsening of symptoms, or even new symptoms, if the initial dose is too high.

You might try splitting the pills in 1/2 for a couple weeks.

What were the actual results of your labs? Please include reference ranges, since those vary lab to lab and must come from your own report.
