the only menopausal symptom that DRIVES ME INSANE is th HOT FLASHES we must be on to something because all of us are 1. thyroid pts and 2. menopausal with one symptom the flashes too much to be a coincidence. Im gonna try the black kosch, heard lots say good about it, thanks for the heads up I will by a good brand.

Hi all- I went thru pre mature ovarian failure-early menopause...it depends on which dr I speak to....both r different, but it was early too early...36...I asked if ne thing could have brought it on...I was told to just accept it....never had thyroid checked...it is at least 13yrs later and am suffering from Hashimotos.....there must be a link....I did not take HRT...had bad reaction.....not on thyroid meds yet either.....I did however take remifarin(sp?).....from a health food store.....it helped with the hot flashes and other symptoms at the time...I took it may be a yr...or less....have had nothing since.
not sure if this can help ne one.....hope it can.

Good luck
Godspeed

Hey, I'm there to! LOL! Right at the peak of it all! The only problem I'm having is or was them Hot Flashes but a good progesterone cream worked wonders for a few years then I had to add Black Cohosh twice a day and it helped bunches. I'm going to be doing accupunture in the next week hoping to conquer the rest of the flashes. I find exercise helps much also!

Can't take estrogen because of a previous cancer but I'm getting by with all of the above. My Flashes were severe just about constant.  I'm not so tired either now and my thyroid has been level up til now.

Had to be careful with the cheaper Black Cohosh and Creams because they didn't work for me. Such as Puritans Pride :(

Hi, I'm just finishing a premature menopause which has been dreadful, and it is during this last year of it that I've developed thyroid problems. I've been on HRT and am currently off it and have the same symptoms. My Endo has just told ne that it's basically the body adjusting to menopause which causes stress to the thyroid. I have also been told by the endo and Dr. Lupo on this site that oestrogen status, whether fluctuating because of your own menopausal hormones or due to those provided by the HRT do have an effect on thryoid function, commonly making it more hypo. Personally speaking though, I don't think you can win with this thing. Because since starting meno, whether on or off HRT I still get thyroid problems.
