long time no see

Ok I'm taking time for myself today to post here. The last couple of weeks any time I have had time to myself I have buried my nose in books...better escape that way. :-)

My brain fog has finally gone away. sigh. I just woke up one morning and noticed that my head was clear for the first time in months. I'm still real tired but since I have been up and down every night with my son Im not sure how much that is do to my thyroid problems. The swelling and speed bump are GONE! I have full movement of my head and the only time I have any pain is if I lift something heavy and then its a little twinge that goes right away. I go back for the next round of blood work next week and I'm to go back to the endo on the 19th...but I will have to change that appointment because of my 5yo's drs appointment. My inscion is hardly noticeable unless I forget to use the sunscreen if I walk out the door ( am allergic to the sun) then it gets dark red for a few days.

I had mentioned in a different post that my hubby has gone off his Effexor. It would appear he has been off a couple of months and he just told me about 3 weeks ago. He takes it for anxiety and for ADD. As you can guess things are NOT good between us and he has been given a choice....start taking the meds again...or I will pack his bags.

My 5yo has had warts in the past. I would say about 6 months ago he had maybe 6. We tried every over the counter product there is without any luck. About the time I schdeuled my thyroid surgery and went on the "poison" the warts just exploded ALL over his body. Well with my post op infection, wacky levels, stress with the family........the warts were put off. Now because of that stupid stupid choice he is REALLY paying for it!! It took 2 appointments this week, 4 different kinds of sedatives to calm him down, 2 different types of pain meds, which didnt help him much,  3 lost days of school....and changing bandages twice a day with him screaming,.... we have to do this ALL over again 3 more times!!!!

The only up side to my screwed up life is my daughters boyfriend. He's pratically living here and I dont know what we would do without him. He also has a little brother with special needs so he's a huge help to my daughter and my 12 yo. He insisted on taking work off to help me with the first drs appointment for the warts. He is truly a Godsend for our family and if they break up.....we're keeping him instead.....just kidding.

I am going to get caught up on reading the posts today. I just skimmed the titles and it looks like a lot of new people here. Welcome. Glad to see most of the regulars are still alive and kicking.....though no word from Suzie huh? hmmmm

Hubby and the boys are tearing apart the entire entertainment center in the middle of my living room floor.........!!!!.......I dont even want to know why...their nagging at me about lunch......sigh well I got about 30 minutes to my self..thats a start huh? :-)

Lori,
From what the woman at health food store said.... Yes, for all types of warts.  I know it worked amazingly fast on my son.

That's interesting about the warts!  Does that go for all kinds, including plantar warts on the feet?

I wish there were something I could do or say to help you out, but I'm at a loss. Hopefully things will smooth out for you. Everyone hits speed bumps now and then. All you can do is keep an eye on what is important, take a deep breath, and deal with things as best you can.

Keep that sense of humor of yours revved up. I'm rooting for you.

I'm glad to hear you out there, but sad to hear of your problems!  I truely hope that thing get better for you and hubby.

As far as the warts go... my son was about the same age when we finally found a cure!  He had warts all over his fingers -- no where else, just fingers.  They were burned off repeatedly from the dr. -- to no avail.  They just kept coming back.  I finally asked the local health food store what they recommended.  The woman there was a godsend.  She explained to me that the warts are being caused by a virus, and burning them off just takes them off of the surface of the skin - but the virus is still present.  She told me to give him 10,000 mg of vitamin C daily and 1,000 mg of vitamin b complex.  My son has never been able to swallow pills, so we did the chewable vitamin c and liquid vitamin b - daily for 2 weeks.  The warts were completely gone within 2 weeks -- literally gone.  And, he is now turning 14 next month, has never had them back.  I was nervous about such a high amount of the vitamin, but she said both of those are water soluable - meaning that your body will excrete whatever it doesn't need.

See if that works -- certainly easier on the little guy that missing school.  We had tried everything -- from dr's to old wives tales -- none worked.

Good luck!

Glad to know you have some help in the midst of all this.  Sounds like he is a Godsend.

Hope you got hubby's attention and he will really go back on his meds.  Men are so darned stubborn!  What a time he picked to pull this, huh?  Maybe you need to sic Mom on him again.  Seemed like last time it worked really well.

Don't keep beating yourself up over your son's situation.  If hing sight were foresight.....  We are not perfect.  We try to do the absolute best we can by our children, but that means we make mistakes.  Know how hard that must be on your, but he is little and will heal quickly.  He will also forget about all of this soon.  Have they treated the virus that caused them?  Hope so or they'll all just come back.

Am praying for all things to get better for you.

Wow, I'm tired just reading that - I can only imagine how tired you are after LIVING it!

I'm new here, and I've sensed a genuine concern from the others regarding your whereabouts.  I'm also relieved to know you are here but sad because I can tell you really need a BREAK.  Since I'm so new, about all I can say is, "hang in there" which I know isn't much help.  I really hope your world slows down a little bit soon.

All good things,
Mary
